A Personal Mission to Make Medications Safer

In 2019, my mother suffered a severe adverse drug reaction that permanently damaged her kidneys. What should have been routine medication turned into a life-altering event. A deeper dive revealed the root cause—poor adherence and an unstructured medication regimen. It wasn't just her; millions faced similar risks due to fragmented drug management. Determined to solve this, I co-founded Pharmallama with Arjun Raghunandan, pioneering India's first full-stack medication adherence solution.

Backed by ACG Worldwide, Flipkart, and an all-shark deal on Shark Tank India, we set out to make prescription management effortless and safe. As I worked deeper in senior care as Vice President of Engineering at Lifebridge Group, India's largest geriatric care company, I came across how medicine interactions impacted patient outcome. I spent a year deeply researching pharmacology and drug interactions, only to realize that India lacked the foundational dataset required to even begin solving this problem at scale.

That's why I started OpenCareAI—to bring structure to drug intelligence and build the AI-driven foundation for safer medications, real-time interaction detection, and the future of pharmacovigilance. Because better medicine isn't just possible—it's necessary. And it starts here.
